Her personal literary interests are very similarly aligned, ever with queer graphic novels in hand, the latest in modern Norwegian literature and poetry, feminist polemics, an Old Icelandic saga or two, or instead working her way through the corpus of German classics, from Michael Ende to Bertolt Brecht.

• Author of numerous lay and scientific articles
• Extensive experience copy-editing translations from French and English

Dr. Maike Edelhoff holds a joint PhD in German and Luxembourgish linguistics from the University of Luxembourg and the University of Mainz and is currently employed at the University of Bonn, where she teaches historical German linguistics. Maike has held talks and published several articles on German linguistics, dialectology, border studies and regional history, for scientific and lay audiences alike.
Maike’s academic interests include historical linguistics, dialects and regional history. She also enjoys working on European history and politics and border studies, and especially loves delving into the field of small languages and their literatures. Her personal interests are fairly widespread: she enjoys contemporary and classic British, German, French and Luxembourgish literature; appreciates youth literature; and is very fond of radio plays. If she isn’t reading or listening to literature she loves playing complex card and board games. Thanks to her husband, a dedicated chemist, she is also sometimes caught reading popular scientific books on chemistry and mathematics. She still hopes to finish one of her own one day soon, on border studies and German dialects.
