Simply get in touch with us via email or using our contact form, both found on our Contact Us page, and tell us exactly what kind of language services you need. If you have any specific guidelines regarding the editing of your work – if you have in-house regulations, for example, regarding textual standards, or specific terminology – please do include those too, and any other specific requests regarding the editing process. On receipt of your text and all the relevant information we will then send you a contract and, if not specified otherwise, will return your text to you within seven days of your acceptance of this offer. Once the edited text is returned, we will then send you a bill, which you have 10 days to pay.

We are more than happy to advise you on precisely which of our services would be a better fit to your text – simply send us your text and we will read through a small selection and give you our honest recommendation. You can also request a free sample of our copy-editing to see first-hand the changes we would make, to help better inform your decision.

We are happy to be able to offer a free 2-3 page sample of our copy-editing so you can see precisely how we work and the changes we would make to your text. Just get in touch by email or by using the contact form on the Contact Us page and request a copy-editing sample along with a copy of your text, and we will choose 2-3 pages at random to edit.

We are able to edit document files for Microsoft Word, Pages for Mac and Open Office Writer alongside PDF files. For the former three we make use of their respective ‘Track Changes’ and ‘Comment’ functions, while with PDF files we are only capable of making comments. For this reason, and for the convenience of both ourselves and you, we prefer document files rather than PDF files.

Paper corrections by hand may also be requested.

We aim to return all texts within seven days (five working days). If the text is especially long, or requires a more thorough degree of editing, then an individual quote will be provided.

We offer an Express Service for individuals who need a quick turnaround on their texts – at additional cost, this will let us return your text to you within 48 hours. For longer texts, or texts that require a more thorough degree of editing, an individual quote will be provided.

If you need your text edited and returned to you during the weekend please mark the email as ‘URGENT’ in the subject line, or check the ‘Express-service’ checkbox on our contact form. All required information must arrive by 14:00 on Friday at the latest for us to be able to accommodate such a request. There is an additional fee for this service.

You are always welcome to get in touch if there is anything you don’t understand in the work we have done with your text!

We are contactable between 09:00-17:00 on weekdays, and endeavour to respond to all emails within 24 hours.

A Standard Page is defined as 1500 characters, including spaces and footnotes. This means that in order to calculate how many standard pages your text is, you simply divide the total number of characters by 1500. A standard page of this size has been determined by Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort, and is also cited as standard by the German Society for Freelance Proofreaders (VFLL).

After acceptance of the finished product and our bill, you will have 10 days in which to send the required payment.

We have a student discount of 10% irrespective of whether you are an undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate student. This discount is not combinable with any other promotional offers or discounts we may have.

We will always do our utmost to ensure the privacy of any information you send us. Your data is not stored any longer than necessary, and if you have texts with confidential information in them that you would like us to edit, we are able to sign non-disclosure agreements as a part of the contract. We cannot, unfortunately, guarantee a 100% mistake-free text – we are only human. While we endeavour to do the very best we can, and to give every text the attention it both deserves and requires, mistakes may still occur here and there.

If you are unsatisfied with our work, please contact us within five days of receiving the edited text to notify us that you would like a review. If there is worthy cause, then we will complete this review free-of-charge. Further details can be found in §8c of our Terms and Conditions.

We only make use of your personal data while we are in contact with you and with regard to the performance and documentation of our services. Once the services are completed, this data will not be accessed or otherwise used unless legally necessary. We also make use of Google Analytics to track traffic to our website for marketing purposes. More information about what data we use and how can be found in our Data Protection Agreement.

We do not offer ghost writing of any kind.

In accordance with German law, there is a cancellation period of 14 days where the contract may be cancelled at any time for any reason, without any cost to you. Work shall not begin until these 14 days have expired, unless explicitly agreed upon; in this case, if you request a cancellation, any work done up until this point must be remunerated.


What this mean in practice is that a contract may be cancelled at any time, but the work done up until that point will need to be paid for. Legal information regarding our cancellation policy may be found in §9 of our Terms and Conditions.

Naturally, as any reasonable person must conclude, this editor finds the Oxford comma a crucial and necessary part of the English grammar.*
